Car rental at Marrakech Menara Airport: the 2026 guide

Landing in Marrakech and want to head straight to the medina, the Ourika valley or the Atlas? Here is how a rental at Menara Airport works, step by step.

In short : with MobilityLine, cars in Marrakech are handed over at Menara Airport (RAK), with a 24/7 welcome matched to your flight. Prices start at MAD 170 per day (Dacia Sandero, 14 days or more) and delivery to your riad or hotel costs MAD 100.

1Why collect your car at the airport?

Marrakech Menara Airport is 15 to 20 minutes from the city centre by car. Picking up the car on arrival saves you a taxi, haggling over the fare and a second trip to collect the vehicle in town.

It is also the ideal starting point for day trips: the Ourika valley (about 65 km), Imlil and Toubkal (about 60 km) or Essaouira can be reached without driving back through the medina.

In Marrakech, our sales point is at the airport only. If you arrive another way (train, bus) or only need the car from your second day, we deliver it to your accommodation.

Prices, the welcome and one-way returns are summarised on our car rental at Marrakech-Menara Airport page.

2How the welcome works on arrival

  1. When booking, give your flight number. We track its status in real time: if it is delayed, we adjust to your actual arrival time.
  2. After landing, go through passport control, collect your luggage and let us know on WhatsApp. Our team waits for you in the arrivals area; the exact meeting point is confirmed before you travel.
  3. Car handover: document check, photo inspection of the car, explanation of the contract and equipment. Allow about 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Departure: you will return the car with the same fuel level as at pick-up.

The team speaks French, English and Arabic, and the welcome also works for night flights.

3Documents to bring

  • A valid driving licence held for at least 2 years (foreign licences accepted if in Latin script, otherwise an international permit).
  • An ID document: national ID card or passport.
  • The main driver's bank card for the deposit (except with the Premium plan, deposit MAD 0).
  • Your booking confirmation (email or PDF).

The minimum age is 20, with a young-driver surcharge of MAD 50/day between 20 and 25. Premium, hybrid and electric models, as well as the KGM Rexton, require a minimum age of 25. An additional driver costs MAD 50/day and must show the same documents.

Tip from our agency

For a Marrakech + Atlas trip, an SUV such as the Haval Jolion Pro adds comfort on mountain roads, but a city car is more than enough for town and the main roads.

5Driving and parking when you arrive in Marrakech

The medina is pedestrian: you cannot drive into it. Park in the car parks around it (Jemaa el-Fna, Bab Doukkala, Bab Laksour), for about MAD 30 to 50 a day. Elsewhere, attendants watch over parking spaces for a few dirhams.

If your riad is deep in the medina, the easiest option is often to leave the car in a car park while you visit the city, then take it again for day trips. Fill up before heading into the Atlas: petrol stations are scarce there.

6Returning the car before your flight

Plan to arrive at the airport about 30 minutes before you need to check in, to allow time for the return inspection. Return the car with the same fuel level as at pick-up: there are petrol stations on the airport road.

A one-hour grace period applies to the return time. If you know you will be late, let us know on WhatsApp. Flying home from another city? A one-way option is available for a flat extra depending on the route (MAD 990 for Marrakech → Casablanca, MAD 990 for Marrakech → Agadir).
