The medina is pedestrian: park in the car parks around it (Jemaa el-Fna, Bab Doukkala, Bab Laksour), about MAD 30 to 50 a day. Fill up before heading into the Atlas: petrol stations are rare up there.
4Getting started in Marrakech
- Riad in the medina: leave the car in a car park during your stay in town and pick it up again for day trips.
- Atlas and Tizi n'Tichka: the road to Ouarzazate crosses the Tizi n'Tichka pass; drive in daylight and allow extra time.
- Return: get to the airport about 30 minutes before you need to check in, for the return inspection, with the same fuel level as at pick-up.
