1Why do rental companies ask for a credit card?
The card is used to hold the deposit, a pre-authorisation that guarantees the excess if there is damage. It protects the rental company but is a constraint for customers: without a card, or with too low a limit, booking becomes complicated.
In practice there are three separate things: paying for the rental, holding the deposit and the card requested in the file. Each has its own solution.
2Option 1: pay for the rental without a card
At MobilityLine, three payment methods are accepted:
- Bank card (Visa, Mastercard, CMI), on site.
- Cash at the agency, in dirhams, within the legal limit.
- Bank transfer, for companies.
3Option 2: reduce or remove the deposit

4Debit cards and prepaid cards: what you need to know
The standard deposit is taken only on a credit card in the main driver's name. Debit cards are not accepted for this deposit, nor are prepaid cards or cards in someone else's name.
Only have a debit card, or no credit card? MobilityLine offers the No-deposit service: for MAD 200 per day, it replaces the Standard plan deposit (from MAD 8,000, depending on the vehicle category). It is available on request, subject to approval of your file; for long-term rentals, contact us. Message us on WhatsApp before booking.
Before you travel, check with your bank what type of card you have (credit or debit) and its limit. Then send us your situation on WhatsApp: we will tell you which solution works before you book.
5What is required in every case
- A driving licence held for at least 2 years.
- An ID document: national ID card or passport.
- A minimum age of 20 (25 for premium, hybrid and electric models and the KGM Rexton).

Can I rent without a deposit being held?

Is a debit card enough?
No, the standard deposit is taken on a credit card. If you only have a debit card, the No-deposit service (MAD 200 per day, on request, subject to approval of your file) replaces the Standard plan deposit (from MAD 8,000, depending on the vehicle category). With the Premium plan, the deposit is MAD 0.
Must the card be in the driver's name?
Yes, our terms ask for a bank card in the main driver's name.
